THE MISHEARD:

I've taken my vows
And my curtain calls

The story:

This was not me actually, it was my father. One day he was listening to this song in the car with me when I was about 10 or so and he started singing along. That is when I heard him sing "I've taken my vows and my curtain calls.." wit this really serious, emotional look on his face to which I reilaized this was a serious "I have terribly misinterpreted this line " moment and pounced on it. I said "Dad..umm..in that line, he is saying "bows".. not "vows"." To which he looks over at me very confused and says "He IS??? Why do you say that??" and then I said "Yeah, ya know like he is on stage...as a singer and he bows... and then when the audience claps for more, he does a curtain call?? Why in Earth would he be taking would he be taking vows ans a curtain call?? That makes no sense at all." So he stops for a second, smiles and says "Hmm..actually, I never even thought of that but...I think you may be right! A bow would make sense with a curtain call, but taking a vow doesn't make any sense at all!! I can't believe I actuually though that was what he had been saying this whole time!!!!" So he started cracking up and I cracked up and to this day I make fun of him whenever that song and particular line comes on because everyone I have ever told about this thinks in hilarious, including him now.
