The story:
It wasn't me, but my mom, who grew up in the 60's and 70's, that misheard this lyric.
We were listening to the radio, and this song came on, and she was singing along. When we got to this part she stops and says "Well that's dirty", thinking that they meant it was in the company of their pubic hair.
I of course burst out laughing, and corrected her.
