The story:
The story is worse than the mishearing. My mom and I were
listening to the Dirty Dancing soundtrack, and I was singing along
to every song. When I got to this lyric, my mother turned of the CD
player and told me I was singing it wrong. She told me the correct
lyric, but I thought she said, "Can I believe the magic of your size?"
I was thinking of she meant penis size! We then had an brief and
awkward conversation in which she explained I was thinking of the
homophone for the correct lyric. It was an embarrassing four
hours in the car for the then fifteen-year-old me.
